Over the years we have gained considerable expertise in the management and control of Allergens, Dust, Mold /microbial growth, VOC’s, avoidance of hazardous materials like formaldehyde and asbestos, as well as protecting homes from insects.

We will give you a basic education as to what must be done to safely seal in / encapsulate or remove the hazard. We do not do removal / abatement as this is a stated conflict of interest / EPA and WCB.
We will refer you to other contractors who specialize in removal / abatement
Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) …states “test sampling operations must be performed by qualified individuals completely independent of the abatement contractor to avoid possible conflict of interest.”
Beware: Avoid Conflict of Interest
Removal / Abatement of asbestos containing materials ACMs can be expensive. Some surveyors also do removal and are able to provide a quote for the removal of the hazardous materials. To make sure the survey / test results are fair it may be wise to hire a survey company that has no interest in the removal / abatement process. If removal is required, make sure to get 2-3 quotes for removal to ensure you are getting the best value for your money.

Our president and chief of operations Michael Travers holds a Bachelor of Science Degree BSc in chemistry from UBC.. 
Graduating in 1977 he began a career in the field of Allergic Immunology supervising the production and sales of allergy shots / prescriptions for Hollister Stier Laboratories in Toronto and later Omega Laboratories in Vancouver.
In 1984 hefounded Allergy Relief Distributors to help allergy and asthma sufferers with products to control their home environment to avoid allergens.
In 1987 he founded EC Environmental Controls Inc. to further develop healthy home products. He developed the Dust Eater Electrostatic Air Cleaner for HVAC systems selling it through heating and AC dealers in Canada and the USA. In the mid 1990’s and 2000’s he designed and built R 2000 Healthy Home Projects combining his expertise in IAQ ( indoor air quality) with the latest healthy home building concepts from CMHC, EPA and ASHRAE.
Semi-retired to the Sunshine Coast in 2012, he has recently returned to the environmental business to meet the need for the identification and elimination of asbestos and other toxic materials here on the coast. The interest and need for healthier home environments continues to grow.
